About Me!
Former Athlete Burnout
Something inside of me would tell me that I wasn’t good enough or worthy if I wasn’t doing at all. This mindset did not stop when I got to college. In fact, it got worse and spiraled out of control because I was surrounded by so many others who were so much like me in terms of grades, athletics and just overall personal drive. This eventually led to burnout.
Coping With Disordered Eating
Being that I was someone that also always suffered from anxiety (more on that in coming blog posts), the feeling of burnout coupled with that anxiety led me to develop an eating disorder. I should also mention that when I got to college, I was no longer playing competitive sports, which had always been an outlet for me. This led to me developing an unhealthy relationship with exercise and nutrition because I no longer knew who I was without sports in my life.
Restoring HAppiness
I started to see a therapist and a nutritionist while I was in school. During that experience, I learned and began to understand that everyone’s version of ideal health is unique to them. What is right for me may not be right for you or for someone else. Once I learned my version of ideal health and started living in it, balance and happiness in my life was restored.
Why I’m a Certified Personal Trainer for Former athletes
Having had an interest in fitness since a young age, I knew that there was an opportunity to help other women like myself develop a healthy relationship with their own fitness routine. That is why I decided to get certified as a personal trainer and health coach. I wanted to help design personalized workout programs and assist with helping my clients plan out their meals and schedules for their busy days so that they would not feel the burnout I had. I know that through teaching what I have learned through my own experiences and the practices and guidelines provided by NASM, I can help you restore balance in your life regarding your fitness and health.
